Y Dream Home Lottery value packs sell out in record time

KAMLOOPS — Less than 36 hours after they went on sale, value pack tickets for the 2019 Kamloops Y Dream Home Lottery have sold out.

Spokesman Bryce Herman says the value packs sold out in two-and-a-half days last year, so sales have set another record this year.

“This lottery has really become a community lottery. The people of Kamloops have embraced it,” said Herman. “I think they really see the amazing value and the opportunity that there is, and they support the cause.”

Single tickets for the lottery are still available, as are tickets for the 50/50 draw.

Herman says, in light of how quickly the value packs moved, buyers shouldn’t wait too long.

“Single tickets are moving very rapidly, not just through our online sales system, but the outlet sales are going absolutely crazy as well. Save-On Foods up on Columbia Street said they had a line-up in the morning and it didn’t quit for the majority of the day,” said Herman.

“The 50/50 product is also moving well. It’s close to $6,000 to the winner in the first day already. I anticipate that those will continue on into the next several weeks.”

Herman says buyers are best advised to avoid calling in if they want their tickets in an expedient manner.

“Right now, the phone lines are so busy that you can be waiting a long time to get through on a phone line,” said Herman. “Literally every bank of phones has been ringing and tied up with processing. So, the quickest way to process a ticket right now is online or face-to-face.”

This year’s Y Dream Home is a 3,300 square foot open concept house overlooking Kamloops Lake at Tobiano.
