Woman hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after assault in Sicamous

SICAMOUS, B.C. — A man is in custody after a violent incident in Sicamous left a woman with serious, life-threatening injuries.

Police say in a news release that at roughly 6:20 a.m. on Tuesday (April 2), Sicamous and Salmon Arm RCMP responded to a report of a man assaulting a woman in the area of Riverside Avenue in Sicamous.

Officers found the woman “suffering from trauma” inside an apartment, the release states. Emergency Health Services provided care before taking her to hospital.

Police arrested the suspect a short while later, close to the apartment building. The suspect and victim are known to each other.
