Kelly Clarkson Gears Up for BMA’s

Kelly Clarkson is hosting the Billboard Music Awards for the second year in a row and this Thursday, she’ll be announcing the nominations live on NBC’s Today show.

Joining Kelly for the announcements will be country duo Dan + Shay, whose song “Tequila” has crossed over to the pop charts. The trio will announce the nods in five categories in the 8 a.m. hour, and the rest will be rolled out on the Billboard Music Awards’ social feeds.

The Billboard Music Awards will air live from Las Vegas May 1st on NBC. The three-hour show will showcase this year’s hottest musical acts and feature unexpected collaborations and buzzy moments.

Kelly and Dan + Shay are also teaming up this Sunday night at the Academy of Country Music Awards to perform their collaboration “Keeping Score,” which appears on the duo’s current album. They’re also nominated for Music Event of the Year at the ceremony for that same song.

Meanwhile, Kelly hit the stage in a rainbow dress for a performance at the 2019 CinemaCon STXfilms Presentation at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Tuesday The 36-year-old Grammy-winning singer performed her new song “Broken & Beautiful” from the movie UglyDolls.

Kelly voices a character in the upcoming animated film, which will be released on May 3. “It’s a very hard time to be a kid,” Kelly told the crowd about the song. “Being a kid was already hard before social media, but everything’s under a magnifying glass and everyone expects perfection.” Kelly was joined at the event by Pitbull, who is also a voice in the movie.
