Both wildfires near Chase suspected to be human caused
CHASE, B.C. — The first two major wildfires of the season are suspected to be human caused.
Both sparked near Niskonlith Lake west of Chase on Saturday.
B.C. Wildfire information officer Jody Lucius says the Kamloops-Shuswap Road fire hasn’t grown since yesterday (March 31) and is estimated at 250 hectares, but it’s still considered out of control.
“Crews are making great progress on that and they are continuing with working on hot spots and patrol,” Lucius says.
