Chelsea edge Paris Saint-Germain in Women’s Champions League quarterfinal
PARIS — Norway captain Maren Mjelde scored in stoppage time Wednesday to send Chelsea into the Women’s Champions League semifinals with a 3-2 aggregate win over Paris Saint-German.
Chelsea won the first quarterfinal leg 2-0 at home but PSG, with Canadian international Ashley Lawrence in the starting lineup, pulled even on a 47th-minute goal by French international Kadidiatou Diani and a 56th-minute own goal by Chelsea goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger, who fumbled in a corner.
The deadlock continued until Mjelde knocked in a cross from Karen Carney in the 91st minute at Stade Jean Bouin.
Chelsea will face three-time defending champion Lyon in the two-legged semifinal in April.
