Pedestrian injured in downtown accident

KAMLOOPS — A pedestrian suffered minor injuries after being struck this morning (March 21) while crossing Columbia Street in front of Royal Inland Hospital.
RCMP Corporal Jodi Shelkie says in a news release that the man was crossing south on Columbia Street at 6:30 this morning when he was struck by a vehicle turning west onto Columbia from 3rd Avenue.
The victim was in a crosswalk at the time.
Police, fire and ambulance attended, and the man was taken to hospital to be checked over.
