VERNON, B.C. — A North Okanagan man facing two trials later this year, is now facing one less charge.
The Crown has stayed a count of assault against 38-year-old Curtis Sagmoen, but is still proceeding with a charge of assault causing bodily harm with a trial set for Dec. 9 in B.C. Supreme Court in Vernon.
The Crown is not saying why it issued the stay of proceedings.
“As the matter remains before the court, the BC Prosecution Service will have no comment at this time regarding the reason for the stay,” says Dan McLaughlin in an email to Beach Radio News.
