Hear his songs, hear his story. @MichaelBuble presents #bubl Wednesday, March 20 on NBC.
Michael Buble Gets Personal
As he prepares for a new TV special that will air tonight, Michael Bubl related a story that would give any artist a serious ego check. The singer said he was flying home from Argentina recently when a flight attendant told him she was a fan. But she was having a debate with her fellow flight attendants.
“And I said, ‘What’s the question?’ And she said, ‘Did you win American Idol or The Voice? Or did you just place?’
“I had an epiphany in that moment,” Bubl said. “And I went and sat in my seat and I thought … so many people in America, they don’t know. They might know my name, and they might hear the music or have seen the Bubly commercial, but they really don’t know.”
We should know more when his special bubl! airs tonight on NBC. Backed by a 36-piece orchestra, Bubl will sing romantic staples such as “Fly Me to the Moon,” harmonize with jazz artist Cecile McLorin Salvant on “La Vie en Rose,” and perform original songs such as his chart-topping “Haven’t Met You Yet” and tracks off his latest album, Love.
