Homegrown defensive back Matt Black retires after 10 years with Argonauts
TORONTO — Longtime Toronto Argonauts defensive back Matt Black has retired.
The 34-year-old Toronto native spent his entire 10-season CFL career with his hometown team, winning Grey Cups in 2012 and 2017 with the Argos.
In the latter win, Black made the game-sealing interception in the end zone against the Calgary Stampeders in Ottawa.
Over 127 games with the Argos, Black had 153 defensive tackles, 83 special-teams tackles, three sacks, three interceptions, two touchdowns and two forced fumbles.
