With Mike Trout close to finalizing a US$432-million, 12-year contract with the Los Angeles Angels, the baseball superstar has more than a little spending money.

So what can Trout buy?

How about 1,300 Rolls-Royce Ghosts? The price starts at $325,000 according to Car and Driver.

Or if gas and parking are an issue, he could buy 26,185 Fiat 500s. They start at $16,495 in the U.S.

If Trout needs something with a little more room — say he needs to transport 400 friends — he can purchase a Boeing 777-9 plane. Boeing lists the price at $388.7 million, meaning he’d still have some $43 million left over.

Sotherby’s has a 20-room apartment in New York’s Upper East Side, complete with seven bedrooms and seven bathrooms that features “divine views of Central Park.” And at $68 million, Trout would still have $364 million left over to furnish it.

Still Trout’s jackpot isn’t enough to cover the price of the Cleveland Browns. Forbes lists the NFL franchise at $1.95 billion.

The biggest overall contract for a Canadian athlete is the 10-year, $225-million deal Toronto’s Joey Votto signed with the Cincnnati Reds. The contract began in 2014.

However, Minnesota Timberwolves forward Andrew Wiggins of Vaughan, Ont., makes more per season than Votto. This season, Wiggins is slated to make $25.5 million in the first year of a five-year deal.
