Kamloops in store for above-normal temperatures this week
KAMLOOPS — It’s starting to feel like springtime in Kamloops this week, with high temperatures getting close to the 20 C mark.
Environment Canada forecaster Bobby Sekhon says temperatures will be above normal over the next few days, with highs up to 18 C mid-week.
“The daily average temperature for March for Kamloops is 5.2 C, and so far this month our daily average temperature has been -0.9 C,” Sekhon says. “So with these warmer temperatures coming up this week, that’ll boost that average up. Where we will be at the end of the month in respect to that 5.2 C average remains to be seen, however the outlook past this week also looks to be right around normal temperatures into the latter part of March, and so we’re doing not too badly.”
Sekhon adds the average high temperature for Kamloops this time of year is 12 C, so highs of up to 18 C on Wednesday and Thursday aren’t too far out of the norm. March is also one of the driest months for Kamloops, he says, adding that other than a bit of cloud cover this weekend, things will remain bright and sunny in the city.
