Transportation Safety Board deploys to helicopter accident near Blue River
BLUE RIVER, B.C. — A team of investigators is en route to a helicopter accident north of Kamloops.
Transportation Safety Board spokesperson Alex Fournier says a helicopter reportedly rolled over, leading to significant damage, but no injuries have been reported at this time.
A spokesman with a heli-skiing outfit in eastern British Columbia says a chartered helicopter with 12 people aboard made a bad landing and rolled on Thursday, but there were no injuries.
Bob Sayer, operations manager and senior guide with Mike Wiegele Helicopter Skiing, says the accident near Blue River occurred when the pilot “lost reference” and couldn’t see the ground.
