KAMLOOPS — Seven Secwepemc communities have signed a long-term reconciliation agreement with the provincial government, meant to help the communities implement their inherent rights and title.
According to a provincial news release, the agreement was signed at a ceremony Thursday (March 14).
The agreement is billed as an avenue toward “improving community well-being and advancing government-to-government relationships”.
Over the next two years, four government ministries and the seven Indigenous communities will work together to “share decision-making and build governance capacity”.
