Tyler Motte scores twice as Canucks down Rangers 4-1 in feisty battle
VANCOUVER — Tyler Motte’s teammates tried hard to help him get his first NHL hat trick.
Instead, the Vancouver Canucks centre had to settle for a pair of goals in his first multi-point game, a 4-1 win over the New York Rangers on Wednesday night.
“I was just happy to get two chances and I was just happy to get them in the back of the net,” said Motte.
The 24-year-old has quietly contributed on offence this season, tallying a career-high nine goals and seven assists.
