JUDGE JUDY TO NAB EMMY: Judge Judy Sheindlin is set to snag a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2019 Daytime Emmys. The National Academy of Television Art & Sciences will make the official announcement Wednesday, as well as announcing the Lifetime Achievement honoree for the Creative Arts celebration on May 3, ET reports. Sheindlin, 76, has won three Daytime Emmys. The 46th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will take place on Sunday, May 5.
COLE SPROUSE TALKS LUKE PERRY: Riverdale knows how it’s going to address actor Luke Perry‘s death IRL on the show, where he played Archie’s dad. But fans will have to wait and see. “I can’t go too much into the spoilers of it, but we do have something planned narratively,” Cole Sprouse, who plays Jughead Jones on the show, hinted to The View Tuesday. “We dedicated some of the episodes to him.” The 26-year-old added, “He was very well loved. I mean, the whole world is mourning his passing. But, he was one of those guys that would rather have us all laughing about his great stories than mourning for too long.”
AIDY BRYANT ON TWITTER: At the Q&A following the premiere of her new show Shrill at SXSW, Aidy Bryant sounded of on Twitter. “It’s a bad space,” said, explaining why she quit the platform. She got harassed when she played Sarah Huckabee Sanders she said, explaining that people would tweet at her that she was a “fat disgusting pig” who didn’t deserve to play Sanders. “Everyone should quit,” Lindy West, who penned the memoir that inspired the forthcoming Hulushow, added. “It just wouldn’t be a realistic show about a female journalist if there weren’t people calling her a fat pig and threatening to kill her. It just had to be in there.”
DAVE FRANCO TO DIRECT WIFE ALISON BRIE IN THE RENTAL: Dave Franco and Alison Brie are set to work together in The Rental. The horror film, which Franco and Joe Swanberg will direct, follows two couples, Brie and Dan Stevens, and Sheila Vand and Jeremy Allen White as they head out for a weekend at a cabin. Franco told Deadline he “couldn’t be more excited… to be working with such an amazing group of actors for my directorial debut.” The pair, who married in 2017, also worked together on The Disaster Artist.
