JOHN MAYER SONG INSPIRES NEW DRAMA STARRING HARRY SHUM JR. & KATIE FINDLAY: Harry Shum Jr. and Katie Findlay are teaming up for a new drama inspired by a John Mayer song. The Crazy Rich Asians star and the How To Get Away With Murder star will team up in Heart of Life, an ABC pilot inspired by the song of the same name by Mayer. The pilot “follows two sets of adult siblings from wildly different worlds who discover they are related and must reassess everything they thought they knew about their shared father. As they explore the mysteries of their separate childhoods, they’ll experience the difficulty in overcoming the sins of the past and learn the joys of reuniting with long-lost family,” according to The Hollywood Reporter. The two stars will play siblings Brendan and Sydney Winter. Mayer will also be co-executive producing the show.
Mark Ronson Throwing A Pool Party: After winning a Golden Globe, a Grammy and an Oscar for co-writing “Shallow,” Mark Ronson is throwing a pool party. Ronson will perform at the opening of JEMAA – The NoMad Pool Party, the latest attraction at the Park MGM in Las Vegas. He’ll spin at the event’s opening weekend on Saturday, April 13th. Taking place every weekend during the Vegas pool party season, JEMAA is a day club that will feature a rotating lineup of artists and DJs performing. Mark will also perform at the property’s new nightclub On the Record on March 23rd and April 12th. Ronson will release his latest album, Late Night Feelings, later this year.
HUMAN RIGHTS CAMPAIGN TO HONOR CHRISTINA AGUILERA: The Human Rights Campaign will honor Christina Aguilera at a gala this month. The organization lobbying for civil rights for LGBT individuals said Aguilera will receive the HRC Ally for Equality Award at the 2019 HRC Los Angeles Dinner. The annual event will take place March 30th at the JW Marriott L.A. LIVE hotel in Los Angeles. The gala brings together more than 1,000 HRC members and supporters in the Los Angeles area to raise funds for the group. The HRC cited Aguilera raising funds for HIV/AIDS research, advocating for marriage equality and campaigning against bullying as examples of her dedication to LGBT rights.
JULIA MICHAELS DROPS VIDEO FOR ‘DEEP’: Julia Michaels has dropped a music video for her song “Deep” from the EP Inner Monologue Part I. The 25-year-old singer surprised fans by dropping the collection of new music and she’ll unveil Part II this spring. Julia has also released videos for Inner Monologue tracks “What a Time” and “Happy.” Separately, she put out a collaboration with James Bay called “Peer Pressure.” Julia recently joined Keith Urban for the Australian leg of his current world tour and she’s hitting the road with Pink for the Beautiful Trauma World Tour right now. She’ll be performing solo shows in the middle of that tour.
