WARNER BROS., DC TO TOAST BATMAN’S B-DAY: The Dark Knight is turning 80! Warner Bros. and DC have announced a year-long birthday party for Batman, with the party getting started at SXSW in Austin, Texas. The celebration will include a moonlight fly-over by 1.5 million actual bats. On March 19th, a special hardcover of Detective Comics: 80 Years of Batman-The Deluxe Edition will land. Meanwhile, the Matt Reeves-helmed refresh of Batman will begin shooting this year, and several other TV and film iterations of the Caped Crusader and his story will be hitting big and small screens.

DAVID DOBKIN TO HELM WILL FERRELL FILM: Wedding Crashers director David Dobkin has signed on to helm the Netflix comedy Eurovision, whic has Will Ferrell attached to star. Ferrell will also co-write the script with Andrew Steele. The story centers on the longest-running annual international TV song competition Eurovision, which has introduced ABBA and Celine Dion to the world.

IDRIS ELBA IN TALKS TO REPLACE WILL SMITH IN SUICIDE SQUAD SEQUEL: Idris Elba is in talks to replace Will Smith in the Suicide Squad sequel being put together by James Gunn and Warner Bros., per The Hollywood Reporter.

GRAMMYS MORE IMPACTFUL THAN OSCARS? More eyeballs may show up for the Oscars, but the Grammys have more of an impact on social media, and garner more attention, according to Nielsen. The 61st Annual Grammy Awards, which aired Feb. 10 on CBS, managed 26.2 million social interactions (such as likes, comments, shares, retweets) versus the Oscars, which went live two weeks later on ABC, and snagged 17.7 million interactions.
