KAMLOOPS — The BC Coroner’s Service says a competitor in a 2017 Kamloops shooting competition died after accidentally shooting himself.
Vancouver resident Richard Cho was pronounced dead on June 11, 2017 after being rushed to hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest.
According to a BC Coroner’s report released Thursday, Cho was seen entering a wooden structure at the Kamloops firing range in Dufferin, before firing a pistol with his right hand.
The report says “(d)uring the process of manipulating the firearm back into the building,” the gun went off, firing a bullet into Cho’s upper right chest.
