Load restriction upped for unstable section of Highway 99 near Lillooet
LILLOOET, B.C. — The provincial transportation ministry is upping the load restriction on a crucial but unstable section of highway near Lillooet.
The load restriction is now 27,000 kilograms gross vehicle weight (GVW) on the Ten Mile Slide area of Highway 99, northeast of the community.
The restriction was previously 50 per cent legal axle weight.
In December of 2016, the previous B.C. Liberal government announced a $60 million improvement project for the Ten Mile Slide area.
