Katy Perry’s Idol Role

Katy Perry made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday where she talked about being a judge on American Idol with Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie, and revealed that she has filled the Simon Cowell role:

“I am definitely like a team player, but I’m probably the more stern, straight to the point, Simon Cowell with t*ts,”

Katy also spoke about how Orlando Bloom proposed to her. Perry said the pair went to dinner, after which she thought they were going to see an art show. “But we pulled up to a helicopter.” Katy said she “voice my opinion” on the ring – including a champagne toast in the helicopter.

“The box was in his pocket and he had written down everything he wanted to say in a note to divert – he was gonna pull it out while I was reading it,” she said. But something went wrong and as Bloom was trying to pull the box out of the too-small pocket of his jacket, his elbow hit the champagne bottle, which went flying and shattered everywhere.

“And I’m like, ‘No, I’m just reading the note. I know you’re not doing anything,’” she said. The eventually landed on a rooftop and Bloom nailed the dismount. “My whole family was there, and all my friends… he did so well.”
