Former Blazer, Shane Doan’s number to be retired by Coyotes tonight

GLENDALE, AZ — The Winnipeg Jets finish their three-game road trip tonight with a stop in Arizona against the Coyotes.

Arizona will retire Shane Doan’s Number 19 jersey during a pre-game ceremony.

He was drafted by the original Jets and played one season in Winnipeg before the franchise moved to Phoenix.

Doan, 42, was also a former Kamloops Blazer, playing with them for 3 seasons, two of which he helped lead the team to back-to-back Memorial Cup championships (1994, 1995).

In the 1995 championship, Doan was also named the Memorial Cup MVP.
