WILL KELLY CLARKSON PERFORM AT THIS YEAR’S ‘ACM AWARDS?’: Is Kelly Clarkson planning on making a special appearance at this year’s Academy of Country Music Awards? The original American Idol is nominated for Music Event of the Year at the 54th ACMs for “Keeping Score,” her collaboration with Dan + Shay from their current self-titled album. Responding to the news, Kelly tweeted, “YES!!!!! #Keeping Score,” adding “See ya in Vegas Dan + Shay.” Kelly’s musical hero and former stepmother-in-law, Reba McEntire, is also hosting the show Sunday at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
MILEY CYRUS TO PERFORM AT ‘AN UNFORGETTABLE EVENING GALA’: Miley Cyrus will be taking the stage at the upcoming 2019 Unforgettable Evening Gala. The Women’s Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) announced that the 26-year-old singer will be performing at the upcoming event that will take place February 28th in Beverly Hills. The event is held annually to raise funds for pioneering cancer research conducted at leading medical and academic institutions in Los Angeles and throughout the nation. Kate Hudson will receive the 2019 Courage Award for her support of breast cancer research, and commitment to raising awareness and funds for research. Gabrielle Union will honored with the Unsung Hero Award for her charitable contributions and philanthropic efforts throughout her career, including her work to help educate women about breast cancer screenings, prevention and closing the gap on breast cancer disparities.
LOVELYTHEBAND TO BE CELEBRITY MENTORS ON ‘AMERICAN IDOL’: Lovelytheband will be celebrity mentors on the upcoming season of American Idol. They’ll be sharing their advice during the “All-Star Duet” round, when the top 20 contestants perform with famous musicians. The exact air date of lovelytheband’s Idol appearance has yet to be revealed, but the show will premiere March 3rd on ABC. In a recently posted video, ABC also revealed that Shaggy, lovelytheband, Chris Isaak, Elle King, Ben Harper, Lukas Graham, Cynthia Erivo, Neil Giraldo, Pat Benatar, Brett Young, Julia Michaels, as well as Jason Mraz will be the duet performers for Idol’s Season 17.
ALICIA KEYS, HALSEY TO BE HONORED AT ‘IHEARTRADIO MUSIC AWARDS’: Alicia Keys, Garth Brooks and Halsey are all set to be honored at the 2019 iHeartRadio Music Awards. The trio will be presented with special awards when the ceremony takes place live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on March 14th. Keys will be receiving the Innovator Award for her contributions to pop culture and social causes. Brooks will be given the first-ever Artist of the Decade Award for his impact on the music industry. He is the No. 1 selling solo artist in U.S. history with more than 148 million albums sold. Halsey will be presented with the 2019 Fangirls Award which recognizes female artists who have pushed boundaries with their music and message. Halsey is also nominated for Female Artist of the Year alongside Camilla Cabello, Ariana Grande, Cardi B, Dua Lipa and Halsey.
