TORONTO — The Canadian Premier League’s opening weekend will feature matches in Hamilton and Langford, B.C.

The new men’s pro soccer league had already announced its season opener — with York 9 FC heading down the highway to face Forge FC on April 27 at Hamilton’s Tim Hortons Field. On Friday, the league released the remaining home openers for the seven founding clubs.

The opening weekend will also see Pacific FC host Halifax’s HFX Wanderers on April 28 at Westhills Stadium.

The next weekend sees a May 4 tripleheader with Forge FC in Halifax to take on HFX Wanderers, York 9 in Calgary to face Calvary FC and FC Edmonton in Winnipeg to play Valour FC.

FC Edmonton will have its home opener May 12 as Pacific FC comes to Clarke Stadium, Edmonton.

York FC 9 then hosts Forge FC at York University’s Alumni Field on May 25.

“This is an opportunity for Canada to showcase the homegrown talent we have in our midst and finally have the dream of the CPL become a reality for our seven cities,” CPL commissioner David Clanachan said in a statement.
