KAMLOOPS — A suspect has been charged in connection to a stabbing in Rayleigh yesterday afternoon.

Court documents show Jared McKague, born in 1997, is facing seven charges in connection to the incident.

He’s been charged with two counts of uttering threats, two counts of theft under $5,000, and one count each of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

In a news release last night, Kamloops RCMP said Mounties were called to a home in Rayleigh just after 4:30 p.m.

Once they arrived, they found a man suffering from stab wounds and he was taken to hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the 21-year-old suspect had left the home by the time officers arrived, but they caught up with him a short time later and he was taken into custody without further incident.
