MADONNA TO RECEIVE ADVOCATE FOR CHANGE AWARD AT GLAAD MEDIA AWARDS
Madonna
is set to receive the Advocate for Change Award at the 2019 GLAAD Media Awards in New York City on May 4th. “Madonna always has and always will be the LGBTQ community’s greatest ally and it is only fitting to honor and celebrate our biggest advocate at GLAAD’s biggest event ever,” GLAAD President and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis said. “From the HIV crisis to international LGBTQ issues, she fearlessly pushes for a world where LGBTQ people are accepted. Her music and art have been life-saving outlets for LGBTQ people over the years and her affirming words and actions have changed countless hearts and minds.” Madonna is the second person ever to receive this award, and the first woman to be awarded the honor. Bill Clinton previously won in 2013.

MAN WHO BROKE INTO TAYLOR SWIFT’S NYC HOME SENTENCED TO SIX MONTHS IN JAIL: Taylor Swift’s accused stalker has officially been sentenced to six months in jail. Roger Alvarado, 22, had already been serving time behind bars, so although the sentencing was just handed down, his six months are nearly complete. The New York Post reports he plans to return to Florida to serve five years’ probation. He must also complete a mental health program. Back in December, Alvarado took a plea deal on charges of criminal contempt and attempted burglary for breaking into the singer’s Soho townhouse last April. According to police, he had used her shower and was found sleeping in her bed. At the time, Taylor hadn’t moved in yet.

SHAWN MENDES APOLOGIZES AFTER ACCIDENTALLY ‘LIKING’ OFFENSIVE TWEET: Shawn Mendes has issued an apology to his fan base after it was noticed that his account had “liked” a tweet that was transphobic. One fan tweeted at the 20-year-old entertainer, “unlike the tweet & apologize @ShawnMendes.” Shawn quickly responded directly to the person, writing, “Must of accidentally liked it scrolling down a feed, you know me & I’d never. Sorry.” He also added, “Love u.”

THE CHAINSMOKERS AND 5 SECONDS OF SUMMER ANNOUNCE NEW SONG, ‘WHO DO YOU LOVE,’ COMING THURSDAY: Details are out now of that secret project The Chainsmokers and 5 Seconds of Summer were teasing. The two acts have collaborated on a new song together, called “Who Do You Love,” which will be released on Thursday. They also revealed an eight-second snippet of the song. On Monday, both The Chainsmokers and 5 Seconds of Summer teased they’d be working on something together. They each posted videos to social media showing them starting to follow each other on Amazon Music.

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE’S NEW ARTIST IVORY LAYNE DEBUTS SONG ‘BOY LOVES ME’: Ivory Layne, a new artist signed to Justin Timberlake’s artist development company, has dropped a new song, “Boy Loves Me.” The soulful Nashville-based singer said, “I wrote ‘Boy Loves Me’ as a feminist love song; a piece where I could express the wonder of being a hopeful romantic without sacrificing my strength or independence as a woman.” “Boy Loves Me” marks Ivory’s first official single release after 2018’s “Committed.”
