JULIE ADAMS DIES AT 92: The Creature of the Black Lagoon star Julie Adams has died at age 92. The iconic star’s performance influenced many in Hollywood today; Guillermo del Toro paid tribute to her on social media, writing “I mourn Julie Adams passing. It hurts in a place deep in me, where monsters swim.” She appeared in more than 50 films in her career.

DWAYNE JOHNSON EXPLAINS INDIE INSPIRATION: Dwayne Johnson isn’t usually the indie type. His Seven Buck Productions is known for spearheading his big budget megahits, so why did they turn from the Fast & the Furious to the more staid and thoughtful documentary, Fighting With My Family? “We wanted a studio to buy into it, and no one did,” Johnson, 46, tells The Hollywood Reporter. “We got passed on everywhere. It was a small British comedy about a crazy wrestling family that wasn’t famous.” The documentary about a WWE fighter became a surprise hit at Sundance.

SUPER BOWL RATINGS HIT HISTORIC LOW: The New England Patriots conquered the Los Angeles Rams Sunday night, 13-3, but viewers didn’t seem that engaged. According to Nielsen numbers, the game scored 44.9/68 in metered market results, a dip of 5.2% from when the Bowl was broadcast on NBClast year. Overall, it was the worst ratings since 2009, when the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Arizona Cardinals. CBS broadcast the show this year for the first time since 2016.
