Wanted man could be in Barriere, Kamloops areas

KAMLOOPS — Police in Barriere are asking for the public’s help in finding a man wanted for several offences.

Police say 25-year-old Layton Daniel MacLaren is believed to be in the Barriere or Kamloops areas and is wanted for a number of offences including:

  • Possession of identity documents belonging to another person
  • Failure to comply with probation

Police say he’s currently awaiting disposition on charges of trespassing at night, theft under $5,000 and possession of stolen property under $5,000.

MacLaren is described as 5’5″, 119 lbs., with brown hair and blue eyes.

“Barriere RCMP has been looking for MacLaren since the warrant was issued and despite following up on numerous tips and possible sightings we have been unable to locate him,” says Barriere RCMP Detachment Commander Cpl. Robert Welsman in a news release. “We are once again appealing to anyone who may have information about his whereabouts to contact police. If you wish to provide your tip anonymously, you can report it to Crimestoppers.”

MacLaren should not be approached if you see him, and anyone with information on his whereabouts should contact Barriere RCMP at (250) 672-9918.
