KAMLOOPS — A man accused of running over a motorcyclist in Magna Bay before taking off is expected to learn his fate on Friday.
Raymond Edward Swann is facing a charge of criminal negligence causing death in connection to the April 2016 death of 60-year-old Brian Watson.
Watson was riding his motorcycle along Squilax-Anglemont Road near Magna Bay when he was struck from behind by Swann. Although Swann pleaded not guilty to the offence, he did admit to the circumstances, but argued a defence of not criminally responsible by reason of mental disorder (NCRMD).
Supreme Court Justice Dev Dley must determine whether or not Swann was impaired by a mental disorder at the time of the offence.
