KAMLOOPS — With temperatures in the double digits yesterday, Kamloops took the title for warmest spot in Canada.
Environment Canada meteorologist Bobby Sekhon says Kamloops tied with Calgary at a temperature of 11.4 C on Sunday (Jan. 27).
“Yesterday’s high of 11.4 C was not record-breaking, even for the daily record for Kamloops,” Sekhon says. “The daily record for Kamloops for the 27th of January is 11.7 C from 1976. So even though it was quite warm in Kamloops, it’s not uncommon for this to happen.”
Sekhon says it’s been a warmer than normal January for the city, but we will head into a cooler stretch to start February.
