Power outage impacts over 3,000 in Kamloops

KAMLOOPS —UPDATE- 5:00 AM Monday January 28-   Close to 4,000 Hydro customers were without power for almost two hours yesterday afternoon. The outage hit at 1:45 PM and Hydro says 3707 customers were affected. No indication what caused the outage.  Although the winds were blowing pretty good at the time, the Hydro web site doesn`t indicate wind as the cause. Customers were affected in the Simms Road area near Knutsford, south of Greenstone Drive in Sahali, and north of Edith Lake Road. Power was back on just before 4:00 PM.

There are still a couple of dozen customers without power  in the 1700-1800 block of Parkcrest Avenue in Brocklehurst. The power went out just before midnight because of a motor vehicle accident. It was still being worked on at 4:00 AM.  No details of the accident have been released by police as yet. 

 

 

EARLIER-  BC Hydro crews are en route to a power outage this afternoon, impacting 3707 customers, according to their website.

The outage is impacting the area west of Simms Rd, south of Greenstone Drive, and north of Edith Lake Road in the Upper Sahali / Aberdeen area, stretching into the start of the Knutsford area.
