Glenn Close still feels as sexual as ever at 71, she tells the Guardian. Close, who just snagged her seventh Oscar nod for The Wife, says she loved showing her sexual side, something she thinks there should be more of on the big screen. The film plays a woman living in the shadow of her Nobel Prize-winning husband Jonathan Price. “It’s one of the great myths that you lose your sexuality as you get older,” she said.”I feel as free and as creative, as sexual and as eager, as I ever have. And it’s ironic because I’m thinking: ‘How much time do I have left now?’ There are so many things I’m interested in doing. It’s one of those ironies, I suppose, that we sometimes start feeling comfortable in our own skin only late in our lives, but hopefully with enough time to benefit from it.”Regarding her nomination for Best Actress in The Wife, she told Deadline: “I didn’t watch. It was not in the forefront of my mind. I felt like I was coming down with a cold last night so went to bed, and then found out because my younger brother walked into my room and woke me up. We are having celebratory pancakes this morning.”
