VICTORIA — The B-C government is calling on the National Energy Board to reject the Trans Mountain pipeline expansion following its reconsideration of the project.
Premier John Horgan says in a news release that the province makes the recommendation in final arguments filed with the N-E-B as an intervener in the case.
Among other things, he says the submission highlights the potential impacts that increased oil tanker traffic would have on southern resident killer whales and that an oil spill could have on the province’s environment and coast.
Environmental groups and First Nations are also calling on the regulator to reject the pipeline expansion in a recommendation that is expected by February 22nd.
