MICHAEL SHEEN, MATTHEW RHYS, ANDREW SCOTT JOIN HEART OF DARKNESS: Joseph Conrad‘s classic Heart of Darkness is being adapted into an animated feature, with Michael Sheen, Matthew Rhys and Andrew Scott set to voice the film. Gerald Conn is set to direct.

THE MASKED SINGER TOPS NEW SERIES: Fox‘s The Masked Singer, with panelists Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger and Robin Thicke, is currently the top-rated new series of 2018-19 among adults 18-to-49, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The first few weeks of the year have seen five other unscripted shows launch to solid ratings. The show is based on a South Korean format. NBC’s The Titan Games and America’s Got Talent: The Championsopened with a 1.8 rating, putting them among the top five unscripted debuts of the past five years.

BERLIN FESTIVAL ADDS VICE AND ONE SECOND TO LINEUP: The 2019 Berlin International Film Festival has completed its official selection, adding Christian Bale-starrer Vice, Andre Techine‘s Farewell to the Night and Zhang Yimou‘s One Second to its lineup. Several documentaries, including Alan Elliott‘s Amazing Grace, Peter Lindbergh – Women Stories from directorJean Michel Vecchiet (Basquiat) and the concert doc You Only Live Once – Die Toten Hosen on Tour, are also headed over. The 69th Berlin International Film Festival is set to run Feb. 7-Feb. 17, and will bow with The Kindness of Strangers from Danish director Lone Scherfig (An Education).

NEIL BURGER TO HELM VOYAGERS: The Upside director is set to direct sci-fi thriller Voyagers, Variety reports. He also wrote the film, which tells the story of 30 children who are sent into space on a missionto reach and populate a recently discovered planet. Production is expected to begin this spring.
