Katy Perry, Gaga and Celine Dion
Katy Perry was suspended from sixth grade years ago when she pretended a tree was Tom Cruise and “began making sexual motions” towards the tree. The 34-year-old took a trip down memory lane and posted the suspension notice on her Instagram Story for all her followers to read.”At the 2:00pm recess, Katy and four other students were in an ‘off-limits’ area (behind the backboards) practicing a skit. Katy pretended that a tree was Tom Cruise and began making sexual motions (‘pelvic thrusts’) to the tree,” the suspension notice read. “When Katy met with [her teachers] she was asked to describe or demonstrate what she had been seen doing in the playground in front of some other students. Katy chose to describe it. Her words were ‘it was inappropriate’ and ‘like making out’.” The suspension notice is dated November 14, 1996.The report adds that Katy was recently spotted by teachers “doing the Macarena dance” outside of their classrooms and had been cited twice for wearing “crop tops” with her midriff showing.Perry captioned the Instagram Story post, “WHEN I WAS SUSPENDED IN 6TH GRADE FOR HUMPING A TREE AND I GUESS OTHER STUFF.”
Celine Dion is pulling a Lady Gaga. According to Variety, Celine and her team are working on pulling her collaboration with R. Kelly, “I’m Your Angel,” from streaming services in the aftermath of Surviving R. Kelly.Recorded in 1998, “I’m Your Angel” appeared on Dion’s holiday album These Are Special Times. The song was written and produced by Kelly. The duet reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, going platinum and earning a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals. It lost to Elvis Costello and Burt Bacharach’s “I Still Have That Other Girl.”Dion’s reported decision to remove the song comes just days after Gaga removed her own Kelly collaboration, 2013’s controversial “Do What U Want,” from streaming services. In a statement, Gaga said she “[stands] behind [the abused women] 1000%, believe them, know they are suffering and in pain, and feel strongly that their voices should be heard and taken seriously.” She also vowed she would “not be working with” Kelly ever again.Variety also said and Chance the Rapper’s 2015 collab with Kelly, “Somewhere in Paradise,” was also in the process of being removed – and that Ciara has also taken steps to see about having her collaborations with Kelly, which include 2004’s “Next to You” and 2006’s “Promise,” removed.
