KAMLOOPS — More than 10 years ago, journalist Amanda Lindhout was kidnapped and held hostage in Somalia. In March, she’ll be speaking about it at Thompson Rivers University.
IDays is kicking off at TRU this March, and Lindhout will be the keynote speaker on March 11.
Lindhout is now a public speaker and author of the New York Times bestselling book “A House in the Sky”.
When Lindhout was working as a journalist in Somalia in 2008, she was abducted by a group of masked men. She spent more than one year as a hostage, and was repeatedly raped and tortured.
