VANCOUVER — It will likely be today (Friday, Jan. 11)  before the BC Review Board decides whether Allen Schoenborn deserves more freedoms.

Schoenborn killed his three children in Merritt more than 10 years ago, and has been living at the Forensic Psychiatric Hospital in Coquitlam.

He was found not criminally responsible for the crimes.

He was granted access to escorted day passes at a review board hearing in 2015, but has yet to leave the hospital where he has been living since 2010.

His lawyer says his psychosis is under control.

But Schoenborn’s doctor testified at a hearing yesterday that he still has ongoing anger management challenges.

Mike Clarke, who is the uncle of the three children and the brother of their mother Darcie Clarke, says the family is constantly tormented by the thought of Schoenborn gaining more freedoms.

He says the agony continues every year as the reviews continue regarding Schoenborn’s possible freedom.
