Kamloops man arrested for arson at Mission Flats Manor

KAMLOOPS — A 32-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly setting fire to a room at the Mission Flats Manor.

Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says officers were contacted by Kamloops Fire Rescue at roughly 10:00 p.m. last night (Jan. 8) regarding the fire.

Shelkie says it appeared the fire had been purposely set in one of the rooms in the manor.

Surveillance footage showed a man in the area of the fire just minutes before the fire alarm was activated, Shelkie says.

Officers arrested the 32-year-old man at the scene.
