CFL pledges over $4 million to Canadian amateur football ranks in 2019
MONT-TREMBLANT, Que. — The CFL and its member clubs have pledged to donate over $4 million to amateur football this year.
The league made the announcement Wednesday during its GM and presidents meetings.
“In 2018 we pledged to invest over $3 million in amateur football and I’m incredibly proud that our member clubs significantly surpassed that,” CFL commissioner Randy Ambrosie said in a statement. “In 2019, we are raising the bar even further.
“There is not another sport like football. It is the ultimate team game which provides an opportunity for youth from all walks of life to live an active lifestyle while also developing important life skills such as confidence, teamwork and determination.”
