‘We got a lesson’: Rinne makes 18 saves as Predators blank Maple Leafs 4-0
TORONTO — Class was in session for the Maple Leafs on Monday night.
Toronto head coach Mike Babcock was clear in his grading — they didn’t pass the test.
Pekka Rinne made 18 saves for his third shutout of the season as the Nashville Predators jumped out to a 2-0 lead through two periods before choking off any hope of a comeback over the final 20 minutes in a 4-0 victory.
“We got a lesson from a veteran team,” Babcock said. “In the third period in particular … they just stayed patient.
