MARIAH CAREY SETTLES LAWSUIT WITH FORMER MANAGER STELLA BULOCHNIKOV: Mariah Carey has finally settled her legal battle with former manager Stella Bulochnikov. According to The Blast, the duo “reached a mutually agreed to resolution of this matter” while Stella agreed to “discontinue this action against Mariah Carey with prejudice, with each party to bear its own attorneys’ fees and costs.” The lawsuit was reportedly a dispute over owed commissions from the three years that Stella worked for Mariah. The number was said to be north of $100 million. Mariah and Stella parted ways back in November of 2017 after much of their business and personal relationship was documented on Mariah’s reality show Mariah’s World.
HALSEY SCORES FIRST SOLO NO. 1 ON BILLBOARD HOT 100 WITH ‘WITHOUT ME’: Halsey rose to the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 with her single “Without Me.” The song has dethroned Ariana Grande’s “Thank U, Next,” which was No. 1 for seven nonconsecutive weeks on the chart. It’s Halsey’s second No. 1 on the Hot 100 following The Chainsmokers collaboration “Closer,” and her first-ever solo No. 1. It’s also the first No. 1 for her label, Capitol Records, since 2014. Because the song interpolates “Cry Me A River” by Justin Timberlake, the song’s producer (Timbaland) scores his eighth No. 1 as a writer and Justin his sixth No. 1 as well.
BRUNO MARS & CARDI B TO RELEASE NEW COLLAB: When Bruno Mars tapped Cardi B for his “Finesse” remix, he ended up with a huge hit. Now, the two are reportedly teaming up again for another new track. Page Six says the new track, which will feature a third big-name artist, is scheduled to be released January 25th, but it could be pushed back because of Cardi’s crazy schedule. However, dropping a new song on that date would make sense, considering Bruno and Cardi are both performing at the Bud Light Super Bowl Music Fest in Atlanta on February 2nd, ahead of the Super Bowl on February 3rd.
HALSEY, IMAGINE DRAGONS, LOGIC & MORE TO PERFORM AT 2019 BOTTLEROCK NAPA VALLEY: Halsey, Imagine Dragons, OneRepublic, Logic and more are headed to California Wine Country this spring to headline the 2019 BottleRock Napa Valley festival, scheduled for May 24-26. The lineup also includes lovelytheband, Elle King, Neon Trees, Skylar Grey, Michael Franti, Marian Hill and more. While Imagine Dragons, OneRepublic and Logic will appear on the main stage of the festival, Halsey is one of the performers on the “Culinary Stage,” which features chefs teaming with musicians for what’s described as “culinary-infused antics.” Among the famous chefs participating are Giada de Laurentiis, Masaharu Morimoto, Richard Blais, Aaron Sanchezand Duff Goldman.
