Madonna’s New Look and Taylor’s new album

Madonna is responding to speculation surrounding her body after a new photo went viral this week.

The 60-year-old singer appeared to address critics on Instagram Thursday with a close-up selfie from New Year’s Day: “Desperately seeking no ones approval…and entitled to free agency over my body like everyone else!”

“Thank you 2019! Its Going to Be an amazing Year,” she continued, adding the hashtags #nofear and #nodiscrimination, which appear to be aimed at those who attempted to body-shame her derriere.

Following a New Year’s performance just after midnight at New York’s Stonewall Inn, users on Twitter began attacking the singer, whose backside appeared curvier than usual during the set.

Many speculated the songstress got butt implants while others argued she was wearing some sort of padding under her pants. One user joked that she was “modeling adult diapers now.”

Even many defending Madonna couldn’t help but weigh in on her new look. “If someone wants surgery, they can do it, their body their choice,” another person wrote. “But MANNNNN, beauty standards today somehow made Madonna get a botched butt surgery….yikes.”

Madonna surprised fans at Stonewall by performing her 1989 hit “Like a Prayer” and Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love.” She was joined by her 13-year-old son, David Banda, who played guitar.

Before performing, the singer gave a speech about starting the New Year with kindness and inclusion.

TAYLOR: Thanks to the costume that Taylor Swift wore to her New Years Eve party, fans are beginning to speculate about the theme of the singer’s next album.

After it was revealed that Swift dressed up as Ariel from Disney’s The Little Mermaid for an end-of-the-year party at which guests were supposed to come as their childhood heroes, some Swifties took to Twitter to share their thoughts on why Tay’s seventh album will be mermaid-inspired.

Most of the theories centered around two other clothing items that Swift wore in the past year or so that also featured mermaids: a camo jacket she rocked in the November 2017 magazine that was released alongside physical copies of Reputation and a t-shirt she can be seen sporting in the blooper reel of her Reputation stadium tour Netflix special.

However, some supporters seem convinced that Swift has also dropped other clues. “The little mermaid came out in 1989 Taylor was born in 1989 One of her most successful albums is 1989 SHOOK,” tweeted one fan account.

Meanwhile, Taylor’s app, The Swift Life, has announced it’s coming to an end. A message on the app’s Twitter page confirmed that the app will be shutting down on February 1st, after first launching to coincide with her Reputation album in 2017.

“As the ‘Reputation’ era comes to an end, our time on The Swift Life will be ending too,” the message read. “We would like to thank all the dedicated fans who downloaded The Swift Life, engaged with this amazing community and created gorgeous pieces of content for others to enjoy,” the statement concluded.
