The 76th annual Golden Globes are almost here! Here’s what you need to know.
WHEN
The three-hour ceremony will be held at the Beverly Hilton; Andy Samberg and Sandra Oh are co-hosting. It will air live on NBC from 5-8 p.m. PT and 8-11 p.m. ET.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Adam McKay‘s Dick Cheney film Vice leads the movie side of contenders with six noms, followed by Green Book, The Favourite and A Star Is Born, with five each.
On the TV side, Sharp Objects, The Americans, Killing Eve and Pose each scooped up multiple nominations.
The biggest snubs: First Man, Widows and A Quiet Place on the movie side, critically acclaimed shows Atlanta and Patrick Melrose and the popular series This Is Us on the TV side.
WHO TO LOOK OUT FOR
Harrison Ford, Lupita Nyong’o, Gary Oldman, Sam Rockwell and Halle Berry are among the star-studded crew set to present awards.
Other celebrity presenters for the night include: Chadwick Boseman, Saoirse Ronan, Michael B. Jordan, Sterling K. Brown, Jessica Chastain, Kaley Cuoco, Jamie Lee Curtis, Dick Van Dyke, Idris Elba, Johnny Galecki, Justin Hartley, Taraji P. Henson, Felicity Huffman, Allison Janney, William H. Macy, Chrissy Metz, Mike Myers, Jim Parsons, Octavia Spencer, Ben Stiller, Lena Waithe and Catherine Zeta-Jones.
EXPECTED VICTORS
Bradley Cooper‘s A Star Is Born, which has earned about $376 million globally is expected to take home several trophies. Oh is widely expected to win on the TV side for Killing Eve (it would be a notable achievement as she’d be the first star of Asian descent to win since Yoko Shimada won for Shogun in 1980.)
The Americans and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel are also expected to fare well.
LIFERS
Jeff Bridges is being honored with the Golden Globes‘ lifetime achievement award. Carol Burnett is nabbing the first ever lifetime achievement award in TV.
