Baby Freya is the first baby of 2019 born in RIH

KAMLOOPS — She was not the first baby born in 2019 in B.C. or even in the Interior Health region, but baby Freya nevertheless had a big impact at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops.. Freya came into the world at 7:44 A.M. New Year’s morning. She is the first baby of 2019 born in RIH.

 She was born to Alison and Eric Beach. Weighing in at eight pounds, nine ounces, she joins her proud older sister, 2-year old Nora.

The first baby in B.C. was born at Royal Columbian Hospital. He is Dominik Soswa, born to Janet Shimizu and Lukasz Soswas. In a news release, Fraser Health Authority says baby Dominik weighed eight pounds, three ounces.

Interior Health says the first baby in this region was born at 1:58 A.M. at Kelowna General Hospital. Hugo, son of Francine and Stuart Kyle, has three older siblings.
