Music Buzz for Your Weekend
KELLY CLARKSON, CELINE DION, JENNIFER HUDSON & MORE TO FEATURE IN ALL-STAR ARETHA FRANKLIN TRIBUTE SPECIAL: The late Aretha Franklin will be saluted next month with an all-star tribute concert which will air later this year on CBS. Tyler Perry will host the event, which will feature performances by Kelly Clarkson, Celine Dion, Jennifer Hudson, Alicia Keys, Alessia Cara, John Legend, Patti LaBelle, rapper Common, Janelle Mone, SZA, H.E.R. and Chloe X Halle. Gospel stars Yolanda Adams, Bebe Winans and Shirley Caesar are also on the bill. According to CBS, the special will celebrate the late legend not only as a singer and songwriter, but also as a pianist, actress, and civil rights activist. Aretha! A Grammy Celebration for the Queen of Soul will be taped January 13th at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. Tickets go on sale December 31st.
GWEN STEFANI TO PERFORM ON CNN’S NEW YEAR’S EVE SPECIAL: Gwen Stefani will be performing on CNN’s New Year’s Eve broadcast, hosted by Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen. She’ll be interviewed for the special as well. Gwen will be appearing live from Las Vegas, where she’s currently performing her Just a Girl residency. CNN’s New Year’s Eve celebrations start at 8 p.m. [ET] on Monday.
