Huge November pushes Kamloops building sector into record territory
KAMLOOPS — With a month to go in 2018, the Kamloops building sector has set a new record for construction activity, blowing past a quarter-billion dollars in permit activity this year.
With nearly $52 million in permits taken out last month, the year-to-date total for the City of Kamloops now sits at $262.6 million to the end of November.
More than half of last month’s permit activity, $27.8 million, was registered in the ‘Institutional’ category, and another $6 million came in the form of a single apartment complex.
The permit activity from last month pushed 2018 past the previous record for construction in Kamloops, set last year at $224.1 million.
