Kamloops vacancy rates remain stable for renters

KAMLOOPS — The city is maintaining a healthy vacancy rate for renters in Kamloops.

A new rental market report released by Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation shows Kamloops’s vacancy rate has slightly improved over the past year. As of October of this year, the overall vacancy rate in Kamloops is at 1.3 per cent.

It’s slightly up from the same time last year when the rate was 1.2 per cent.

But the vacancy rate on the South Shore has dropped off to 0.7 per cent compared to 0.9 per cent the previous year. A different story on the North Shore, where the vacancy rate has risen to 2.1 per cent this year compared to 1.5 per cent in 2017.
