Coldplay Colabs with Pharrell
Coldplay, performing under the name Los Unidades, has released a new song called “E-Lo” in collaboration with Pharrell and rising Memphis rapper Jozzy. The tune will appear on Global Citizen EP 1, a four-track disc that is an extension of the Global Citizen Festival and will be released November 30th via Atlantic Records.
The EP will also feature Coldplay/Los Unidades on two additional tracks, “Timbuktu” and “Voodoo,” on which they collaborate with additional artists such as British rapper Stormzy, Australian singer Jess Kent, David Guetta and others.
Proceeds from the EP will benefit Global Citizen’s various efforts to end extreme poverty around the world by 2030. The organization also spearheads projects in areas such as gender equality, education, water and sanitation. Coldplay frontman Chris Martin serves as the curator of Global Citizen’s annual music festival.
Martin told us a while back that it’s important to speak out on the problems of farmers and workers in less developed nations: [“If you’re American or English or French, you don’t really notice because everything’s kinda hunky-dory for us, you know? But if you go around a lot of the world, farmers and producers and workers just don’t get what they should.“] SOUNDCUE (:13 OC: . . . what they should.)
