Potential for freezing rain along Coquihalla Highway overnight

BRITISH COLUMBIA — Coquihalla drivers, be wary.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement in effect for the portion of the Coquihalla Highway between Hope and Merritt.

There is potential for a significant period of freezing rain before morning, as a strong weather system hits the B.C South Coast tonight, and brings snow to the Coquihalla this evening.

There are no guarantees in the surface temperature forecast, however travellers should be aware of the potential for adverse travel conditions.
