Kamloops Fire and Rescue make short work of afternoon house fire
KAMLOOPS — Kamloops Fire and Rescue crews made short work of a house fire this afternoon on the North Shore.
Platoon Captain Mike Haines says 4 units responded to a fire, which started at 219 Baker Street.
“The fire was quickly knocked down. It was in the kitchen, but there was smoke damage on the main floor. The fire was contained to the kitchen and the attic, but most of the house did have some sort of smoke damage,” He explains, “So the people are going to be relocated until that can be repaired.”
No injuries resulted to the five residents and two dogs, and Haines says the cause is thought to have been an unattended pot left on a stove.
