HERE’S WHAT THE ACTORS HAD TO SAY:

Taron Egerton explains what he thinks is different about this version of the classic tale: “This is a very different story, in fact I’d say in many respects it — there’s a guy in a hood with a bow and arrow but it’s unrecognizable from any mainstream version we’ve seen before both in terms of the sound of it, the way that the characters speak, the way — and stylistically the design of the whole thing.”

Jamie Foxx says Little John is trying to teach Robin: “Little John is trying to open the eyes of Robin to the big picture, trying to look behind the curtain of what’s going on in this dangerous world that they’re in and so Robin at first is skeptical and then when he shows him what’s going on, when he shows him how drunk with money they are, it sparks something inside of him because Robin was privy to some atrocities you know on the battlefield that were unethical and that touched him in a certain way so that started their relationship.”

Eve Hewson describes what she thinks audiences can expect: “This movie is a romance, it’s a love story, it’s an action film, it’s a heist movie, it’s a war film, I mean, we have something for everbody in this film and our hope was to give everything that Robin Hood fans longed for and also attract a new generation — young people have been watching super hero movies, we wanted to make it a little bit more special effects, make Robin Hood more of a superhero, more of a badass character and I think we did that.”
